7-Eleven Malaysia Supports Earth Day 2016 at Morib Beach

To celebrate the 46th Anniversary of Earth Day this year, 7-Eleven Malaysia had initiated a Coastal Cleanup Day at Morib Beach, Banting on Saturday, 30th April 2016. Mommy Jane and Little Angels were invited to join the Coastal Cleanup Campaign.
Marked on April 22, Earth Day is an annual event to celebrate the planet's environment and raise public awareness about pollution. It is observed worldwide with rallies, conferences, outdoor activities and service projects.

My maid taught my youngest Angel on the method to pick up the rubbish.

My blogger friend, Mandy was very surprise coz' she even found a man brief at the beach. Ha ha ha...

Approximately 80 volunteers consisting of 7-Eleven Malaysia's employees, bloggers and media partners which include me and my Little Angels have joint forces to clean up the 2km Morib's shoreline. Morib Beach was one of the first landing points on the west coast for the British and Indian Army liberation forces during end of World War II in 1945 and it's now one of Banting's premier tourist attraction.

Mr Ronan Lee, General Manager of Marketing did his part in making our beach clean too
A cleaner ocean and shoreline not only please the eye but also serve as a a safer habitat for marine life to thrive on. With the global warming and climate change being the pressing problems of our generation, it is more crucial to maintain a resilient and sustainable environment.

Mr Gary Brown said, "This is our first Coastal Cleanup campaign and we look forward to developing more campaigns related to environment in the future. Beaches are the vital part of our ecosystem and home to hundreds of wildlife species. We believe in the power of the individual in making a difference and that the steps we take today will have a long-term ripple effects."
He added, "We had collected and removed nearly 117kg of trash today and the trash varied from cigarette buds, snack food packaging, plastic bottles, soft drink cans, plastic bags and styrofoam items were among the most frequent items found."
7-Eleven Malaysia has supported the Earth Day for years and has continued to do so due to its Corporate Social Responsibility focus in preserving our environment as well as minimising the environmental impact of its operations, products and packaging.
7-Eleven Malaysia is the pioneer and the largest standalone 24-hours convenience store operator in the county with over 1,950 outlets nationwide. For more information, please log on to www.7eleven.com.my or follow them at FACEBOOK and 7ElevenMalaysia on  LINE.
Thanks to 7-Eleven Malaysia for the invitation to the campaign. Even though just a simple task to pick up the rubbish but me and my Little Angels had enjoyed ourselves so much. It is a great start up for my Little Angels from young so that they learned the importance of keeping our beach clean. We found broken glasses that might injured foot since almost everyone with bare foot walking and running around the beach. We felt sad too when we saw some wildlife species found dead at the beach because of the pollutions done by irresponsible human being. Hope more peoples and organisations will take the initiative to clean up our beach so that all of us will have a beautiful place to spend with.
