McDonald's Unlocking Magical Experience Through Reading

McDonald’s will be hosting a nationwide campaign to promote the passion for reading amongst Malaysians. It is part of McDonald’s nation building effort to nurture a generation who loves to read. The campaign involves 50 family restaurants and 10 flagship family restaurants across Malaysia playing host to exciting reading activities for six weeks starting from 9 Oct 2014 to 16 Nov 2014. 

Children will sure love all the stories

In conjunction with this campaign, McDonald’s Happy Meal will offer customised story books for the very first time. The books include The Magic School Bus Series by Scholastics and The Watch Me Grow series by DK Publishing. This promotion is available until 19 Nov 2014.

Highlights in the flagship family restaurants

      ü  Store Dress Up

Flagship family restaurants are thematically dressed up based on the characters from the story books.

ü  Ronald McDonad Reading Corner

Via a partnership with Scholastic Malaysia, Ronald McDonald Reading Corners will be set-up at 50 Family restaurants.The Reading Corner will be located within the Playland area.

ü  Ronald McDonald Champions Reading

Families can enjoy animated story telling time hosted by Ronald McDonald. He has some favourite stories under his belt, namely - The Lion & the Mouse, The Pumpkin & the Witch, The Piped Piper and The Boy Who Cried Wolf.

 ü  Story Telling contest

The excitement continues with the hosting of weekly story telling contest at the flagship family restaurants. Participation is open to children between the ages of 7 to 10 and it’s limited to 10 entries per day.Winners will receive gift certificates and book sets.

 ü  Fancy Dress Competition

Children can dress up as their idol - princess, superhero or as their favourite character from the Happy Meal book series. Winners will receive gift certificates and book sets.

Thanks to Mc Donald for letting me and my Little Angels to be the first to witness the launch of the story books. Do remember to check out their venue, date and times for the activities and I'm sure your little ones will love it. As for us, we enjoyed the activities very much and brought home lots of the interesting story books to read at home later. Bravo to my 3 Little Angels, CW, WH and WT for dare themselves to dress up and post for the audiences and the judges without any fear. WH manage to grab top 5 prizes while CW and WT got the 6th places with lots of interesting books. Mommy really proud of three of you as whether you win or not, at least you try and do your very best. Never try, never know. Win or lose is just a game and as long as you try it, then all of you're always the winners at Mommy's heart...
