Benefits of Basketball For Children with EPS Sports Academy

Basketball is a good outdoor activity to fit the bill for a growing child. Encouraging our children to play basketball at a young age will help them to benefit from the virtues of a rigorous sport, but also work as a foundation in staying active later in life. Put aside all the smartphones and gadgets at home, we should encourage our children to get active and have fun. To start it up, Mommy Jane had registered Little Angels to joined the 3 months basketball programme organised by EPS Sports Academy at Desa Parkcity.
What ways can our child benefit from playing basketball ? As all of us knew that basketball is a brisk sport that involve lots of running, jumping, dribbling, passing and shooting the ball. It is a good option to burn calories and lose fat. Since this sport involve lots of movement and the use of the entire body, muscles and limbs, it will help in toning the body and building muscles in the arms, thighs and calf areas. My growing boys love the idea of flaunting some muscles and my girl wants to tone her body.
Basketball will make them grow taller. The main body movement, the frequency of movement and the act of jumping while playing the sport have scientifically shown evidence to aid growing children in improving their heights.
Shooting the ball into the hoop requires immense concentration, a good aim and great accuracy. All of which can be achieved through a lot of practice. Learning to target and building precision is a life-long skill that our child can benefit from.
Basketball has a number of rules to follow and if we did not followed it, it will lead to penalties. It is a good way for our child to appreciate the importance of following rules and developing competitive spirit while doing so.
Mommy Jane believes that every sport involves certain strategies to score and win. The dribbling and passing techniques and shooting tips make basketball a very strategic game to play. The essential skill that our child had learned will be a life lesson to them. It is the sport that interact and operate in a team and jointly come with winning plans and tactics. Working as a team while playing is the best way for them to appreciate and adopt to team spirit.
Since basketball requires a minimum of 5 players on each side, my Little Angels had socialised well and make good friends along the way and get involved together in any outdoor sports and activities.
Every time my Little Angels shoot the ball into the hoop, it will shoot up their self-confidence by leaps and bounds. The confidence will improve as they gain control over the ball and the strategy of the game which will reflect in their overall personality.
EPS Sports Academy programmes are interactive and each stage of its curriculum builds on the previous one by offering new skills and unique challenges. Their progressive curriculum was designed with a comprehensive understanding of child development and also adult physical ability to continuously improved with the latest input from sporting experts and professionally trained Brazillian and local coaches. In this programme, the emphasis is to build skill to enable the players to compete effectively against competition. Focus will be on teaching fundamental techniques and tactics as well as drive physical and mental conditioning.
EPS Sports Academy is offering basketball clinics and they guarantee you their best coach coaching our children. They had classes for 4 to 6 years old, 7 to 12 years old and 12 to 14 years old on every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 4pm-5pm and 5pm-6pm. After a month of training, my Little Angels basketball skills had improved so much. They learned about co-ordination and co-operation to work as a team. Mommy Jane was very proud of their achievement and with this programme, I'm sure my Little Angels will grow up happily and healthily. With the guidance from Brazilian trained coaches from EPS Sports Academy, Mommy Jane hope that Little Angels will become someone like Michael Jordan and represent our country to join the NBA World Champion.

  4. Love kids who play outdoors! And those that play their toys than watching on tabs :) I always encourage my toddler to play with her toys instead of watching, and so far so good! Cheers to us, Mommy Jane ;)
