KidZania CongreZZ 2017 Gives Underprivileged Kids a Sporting Chance

Last Saturday, Mommy Jane brought Little Angels to join the KidZania CongreZZ 2017 for the caring project giving underprivileged kids a sporting chance at Sports Planet Kota Damansara. Is is an annual CSR activity which brought the spirit of unity alive in true Malaysian style for the children of Lighthouse Children Welfare Home to participate in a variety of sports, games and activities in an effort to promote the spirit of sportsmanship and the thrill of healthy competition.
KidZania CongreZZ's Caring Project 2017 kicks off with a group photo of CongreZZ members and kids from Lighthouse Home
Joshua Zhakaria, 8 year old CongreZZ Kid said that the KidZania SportZ 2017 programme was very popular among the kids at KidZania Kuala Lumpur and they realised that there are many more kids who wouldn't have been able to enjoy that especially the underprivileged, so they decided to bring the programme to them instead.
2 CongreZZ members are the Emcee on that day
Shahrul Nizar Ahmad, Mayor of KidZania KL said that through the Caring Project, Kidzania CongreZZ members are given the responsibility to research, plan and organise a charitable initiative, which teaches them about time and project management while instils the importance of helping others and contributing their skills and time to those less fortunate than they are. He also said that the personal experience show when they reach kids in a classroom, only a part of the information sticks but introduce sports or an activity will make the kids more alert and participative audience.
My Little Angels, CongreZZ members and children from Lighthouse enjoyed a fun-filled day of Zumba, CrossFit, Futsal and dodgeball sessions. Additional activities such as mini golf, archery, basketball and mini table tennis were also popular and the day came to a close with an upbeat and energetic send-off in the form of special performances by the CongreZZ members and KidZania Kuala Lumpur Artistic Team.
KidZania CongreZZ is a group of 20 children, from 7 to 12 years old, elected annually to govern KidZania KL and providing input in decision-making processes, gathering every quarter to discuss the topics that will benefit kids such as education, media, entertainment, and literature, besides planning for events and initiatives the annual Caring Project for underprivileged children and disadvantaged communities. They had hosted and visited children from 2 different homes and had organised a Mini Charity Concert to outreach Orang Asli community so that the children were able to mingle and learn from each other about their different lifestyles.
For more information, do visit KidZania KL website at www.kidzania.com.my or their facebook page at www.facebook.com/KidZaniaKualaLumpur. You could call them at their Careline at 1300 88 KIDZ (5439) from Monday to Sunday at 9am to 8pm.
Thanks to KidZania KL for the invitation to be part of the CSR Caring project. My Little Angels and all the underprivileged children had enjoyed the sports, games and activities held on that day. Thanks to the caring CongreZZ members who took the extra effort to teach the children on how to play the games. Without them, the KidZania staff will be having difficulty to handle all the kids. Bravo to them for being part of the caring project. Hope this sports charity event will reach to more children to instils the spirit of sports to every child and bring all the children together to be united as 1 Malaysian.

  7. This is great. I do hope they will do a tour, just to reach out to the housing areas that are far from the city and where the parents are unable to bring them here.
