Free School Bus Service

For the past 7 years, Mommy Jane had spend almost RM1,000 a month on school bus fares for the return trips to and from school but not every parent can afford to do that especially if your household income is less than RM3,000. We have to pay for our house monthly loan installment, car installment, food on the table and others necessities. For parents who could not afford to pay the rising school bus fares, a good news to all of you. Since the beginning of 2017 todate, the Federal Territory Ministry has provided Free School Bus Assistance services to all the children of the People's Housing Project ("PPR") and Public Housing ("PA") around the capital i.e. Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur.
Seventy-Seven (77) buses and 54 vans will ferry 8,072 children to school for both morning and afternoon sessions. Redberry Sdn Bhd and Petronas Dagangan Bhd were among the sponsors of the free service. Their aim is to reduce the burden of low-income parents who live in the City as the Cost of Living had increase.
With the effort from Kuala Lumpur City Hall ("DBKL"), an allocation of RM80 is given to every student from the low-income families who uses the free school bus service. In 2018, the free school bus program had covered 74 PPR and PA areas.
The buses was operated by appointed bus companies and the cost of operation would be borned entirely by the ministry. Registered students must be in school uniform when using the service.
With the free bus service available, it will gives all the parents some peace of mind knowing that their children will be safe, It is also much safer when some parent had no choice but to take more than 1 child to ride on motorcycle. Working Moms can take a break from work too instead of rushing out from office at noon to fetch their kids home.
Mommy Jane felt that the free bus service is one of the best program organised to help people in need so that the children could continue their education without burdening their parents. For more information, do visit their website at www.kwp.gov.my.

  6. Bestnya orang KL ada bas percuma ke sekolah. Sepatutnya program macam ni diperluaskan ke negeri-negeri lain. Kurang sikit beban parents nak bayar tambang bas every month. Bukannya murah pulak tu.
