Mid-Autumn Festival at Desa ParkCity

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival to all my family, friends and readers of my blog !!! We will be celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival which held on the 15th day of the 8th Month of our lunar calendar. The day is also known as the Moon Festival as at tonight, our moon will be at its roundest and brightest of the year. Family members and friends will gather for a reunion to offer the sacrifice to the moon, appreciate the bright full moon, eat moon cakes and not forgetting, playing lanterns and candles amongst the kids to light up the area.
We celebrated our Mid-Autumn Festival yesterday at The Waterfront, Desa ParkCity since it is near to our home and Desa ParkCity had organised a Mid-Autumn festival event. Everyone could bring their families and friends to join together around at the lake as we lit up the lanterns, candles and floating lotus to beautify the area.

Thousands of peoples thronged The Waterfront, Desa ParkCity to join the event. Ready-made lanterns, floating lotus and mooncakes were given for free and it was sponsored by Desa ParkCity as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility to ensure all its residents and public could enjoy this meaning festival at their community. The give-away had started at 7 p.m. and everyone walk-away with a free mooncake, lantern and floating lotus each.

My Team (My FM) Cruiser was there to start with some interactive activities that involves kids and adults. Mooncakes and movie vouchers were given to the winners. The games were fun and interesting.
For dinner, there are food trucks, stalls and restaurants around the lake for a great dining experience. For shopping experience, there are bazaar selling clothes for kids and adults, beauty accessories, beautiful paints and lots more that were sold at an affordable price.

Stage games started at 8 p.m. for participants to win Tesco Cash Vouchers. There are Questions & Answers on Mid-Autumn Festival and Desa ParkCity. Adults and children had joined in the games to answer the questions correctly in the fastest way. At 8.30 p.m., there are MoonCake Eating Competition. 10 participants had participated and the fastest 3 participants had brought home Tesco Cash Vouchers worth RM150 each. Congrats to all the winners.

The Lantern Walk started at 9 p.m. where adults and kids walk together by the lake. The place was beautifully light up the night with various lanterns and floating lotus. Some kids spotted happily playing candles with their cousins and friends. Before release the floating lotus to the lake, some of the participants made some wishes first and hope their wishes will come true one day. The lotus flowers were bloom beautifully floating at the lake through the night.

Desa ParkCity is truly a self-contained township, centred on the ideals of good wholesome living, where its residents are able to foster family, neighbourhood and community ties. For more details on the community and the event, do visit their website at www.desaparkcity.com and facebook page at www.facebook.com/DesaParkCityMY. I had recorded the video of the event at my youtube too...
Mommy Jane and Little Angels had enjoyed ourselves so much at this Mid-Autumn Festival event at the Waterfront, Desa ParkCity. We redeemed our free lanterns, delicious mooncakes and lotus floating flowers before release it to the lake. We had made our wishes too to have a happy life on this special day. My Little Angels learned the meaning of this festival through the various activities and as we walk along the lake, we did chat a lot and Mommy Jane took this opportunity to explain to them the reason we celebrate it every year. We enjoyed the natural scenic view of the lake and its surrounding while holding our lanterns to light up the area. Hope all of you will enjoy your Mid-Autumn Festival this year and teach our kids the meaning of this Festival to all of us.

    1. Ayu, you should bring your kids to join too. Desa Parkcity had sponsoring the lanterns for free for few years. Do join them next year to get hold of a free lantern and mooncake. Your children will love it too.
