For all the animals' lovers, I'm sure all of you remember when is the World Animal Day. If not, a kind reminder to all of you that the day was celebrated on 4th October every year. It is an international day of action for animal rights and welfare to raise the status of animals in order to improve their standards around the globe. This annual celebration which dates back to 1925 unites the international animal welfare movement, mobilising it into a global force to make the world a better place for all animals.
Can you guess where did we go to celebrate World Animal Day ? The best place to go is to Sunway Lagoon's Wildlife Park since Sunway is doing a campaign to promote its initiatives towards sustainability. The Wildlife Park is an interactive and educational zoo featuring more than 150 species-specific exhibits of exotic animals and a diverse range of birds, fish, reptiles and mammals from around the world.
Do you know that the park is unique and suitable for our kids ? There is an interactive concept behind the attraction that encourages all the visitors especially the kids not only to learn about the animals but also to get close-up and personal with their "friends" which made Sunway Lagoon Wildlife Park been long hailed amongst the animal welfare fraternity and families as a must-visit destination.
Sunway Lagoon had also announced its support towards 2 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) set by the United Nations i.e. Responsible Consumption and Production (Goal #12) and aimed at ensuring sustainable consumption and production patterns and Life on Land (Goal #15). The programme contains a total of 17 goals which the United Nations aims to achieve by the year 2030. It is a universal call to action, in a bid to end poverty, protect the planet and to ensure all of us could enjoy the diverse richness which Mother Nature exudes.
Mr Sean Choo, General Manager of Sunway Lagoon said they had pledged to support the goals which are highly pertinent to their operation and will further cement their commitment towards acting in an environmentally friendly and sustainable manner.
To support the World Animal Day, Mommy Jane brought 3 Little Angels to Sunway Lagoon's Wildlife Park to join my other blogger friends as the park announced the arrival of its latest 'residents' - a new sun bear cub. The 2 month-old male sun bear is so cute and adorable and every kids and adults will definitely love it so much. Do you know that the baby sun bear yet to get his name ? If you think you got the suitable name for him, then come to the park to give him a new name by joining the contest and you might walk-away with great prizes.
We had also joined the Scavenger Hunt aptly titled WAD-a-quest. For this challenge, we have to go around the Wildlife Park to find the code and scan it to get the questions. Together with our selfie photo and answers to the questions, we whatsapp the Wildlife Ranger. There are 10 questions to be completed and there are 3 fake one. While answering the questions, we actually understand the animals more. To our surprise, Mommy Jane and 3 Little Angels won the Champion for this hunt amongst around 20 contestants. Yeah...
After the hunt, we went back to the animal theater to learn how to made container using the natural resources for the animals to enjoy their food. Ours using coconut shell and the string, we made our container for marmoset to enjoy their lunch. We had the chance to meet up with the smallest Monkey in the World i.e. the cute little Pygmy Marmoset. My Little Angels were happy when all the Marmosets enjoy their food at the newly made container so much.
After feeding the animals, we were brought to the most unique and wildest dining experiences at its Wildlife Park together with some of its animals, which include its wildest dining experiences at its Wildlife Park together with some of its animals i.e. White Lions, Black Panther and White-handed Gibbons.
Students from Sunway International School (SOS) got to have a sneak peek into the fun and excitement that awaits visitors at Sunway Lagoon's Wildlife Park's World Animal Day celebrations when the park held a special Wildlife Encounter event at the school's parking lot on 3 October. Graced by Her Excellency Julia Bentley, the Canadian High Commissioner in Malaysia, there are activities for them at the day long event.

It is indeed great to celebrate World Animal Day at Sunway Lagoon Wildlife Park. Me and my Little Angels had enjoyed it so much. Through all the activities organised for us, the most important thing that we learned that day, is to love the animals by caring for them and protect our environment by using the natural resources. Mommy had expose various types of animals to my Little Angels so that they will love and protect all these animals now and forever to make this world a better place for all of u to stay at.
