Last Sat, July 27, 2013, my blogger friend, Sherry Go told me that they need a blogger Mom to bake some delicious home-made cookies with Planta for the celebration of Hary Raya to the orphanage. Thinking that It is a good idea to spend time with my children also while doing some good deeds.
I told my children in advance that we're baking for charity purposes to 65 less fortunate children of Rumah Perlindungan Al Nasuha, Batu Caves. They do ask me why they're orphans. Told them that their parents might pass away or maybe some irresponsible parents who don't want their child or some with reasons.
A mother's cooking embraced with warmth and comfort boasts expression of love to family. Unfortunately, orphans would not have the privilege to experience such joy and happiness in the coming Raya celebration. This is our opportunity to extend our love to the less fortunate children.

From festivities and celebrations to everyday cuisine, Planta has always been mothers' choice when cooking their families favourite recipes to bring out the fondest memories amongst them. We want to translate these great moments to not only inspire our consumers to do more, but also do good and make an effort for the less fortunate children," Victor Leow, Brand Manager, Foods & Beverages Category, Unilever (Malaysia) Holdings Sdn. Bhd.
"Ramadhan is a month of blessings and it is a time to remind people to think about community, hardship and reflect on how we can share and help the less fortunate ones. Together with the love and support of the community, Planta wants to make a difference to the less fortunate children during Ramadhan, at the same time, inspires Malaysians to devote more quality time and build stronger bonds amongst family members," added Leow.

Apart from empowering mothers to bake with love, the three-day charity baking workshop also winessed the unforgettable looks of joy and delight in the mothers' faces when we bring out the freshly baked cookies from the oven. In addition, all of us didn't go home empty-handed as we were given a jar of our baked cookies, several household tips, cooking recipes to apply in this coming Raya celebration and not to forget a memorable experience of baking with family.

It is a meaningful event that me and my kids enjoyed. We enjoyed the baking session, putting the cookies in the jar for the orphanage as we shared our love to them. I always told my children to thank God for having loving parents that care for them and having everything that they had wanted but never ever forgot those unfortunate person. We should try our best to give and share as we'll feel the happiness that given to them. Thanks to my blogger friend, Sherry Go and Jess Chong from Edelman for the invitation...
