My Little Pets

Mommy, I want hamster. Mommy, I want hamster as pet. Argh.... My children always ask for a hamster whenever they went to a pet shop especially CW. She loves animal so much and so daring to touch them and hold them whereas I don't really like it because already need to take care of so many children and now had to take care of hamster ? No please...

I don't like the smell and all the troubles of taking care of them till we went to Pet World Exhibition and they join the children colouring contest. CM won 2nd prize with RM60 Pet Lover's cash voucher, CW won 3rd prize with RM40 and WH won consolation prize with RM20. Total RM120.00. My friend's children also won the prize and since she had nothing to buy, she sold her RM200 cash vouchers to me at a discounted price. I bought it just in case their winning not enough for them to buy the pet and the accessories...

After a week of persuasion, at last I give up and brought my children to IPC to get their favourite pet. We walk around and decided to get a couple of Dwarf Winter Sapphire which cost me RM18 each. The salesgirl said better buy a boy and a girl as same gender will made them fight. CW likes them as she said they look very cute...

Aren't they look cute especially this little boy. He was so naughty as he manage to escape from the cage 3 times in just 4 days. 1st time quite easy to locate him and catch him back. 2nd time, he lost for almost 24 hours where he hide at baby toys and manage to get him back again and the 3rd time is this morning and till now can't find him yet. Naughty naughty naughty. He might looks innocent but as what people said "Don't judge a person or in this case a pet but its looks". Ha ha ha...

Pets also need a house and we bought this house for the hamster worth RM69.90 that comes with slides, turbo, a small house, container and a water bottle. Looks fun, right ?

Then we had to get some hamster food. Each box cost around RM15 each and each box can last for 1.5 month. So the food here can last for 3 months, I guest...

Hamster also need vitamins to keep them healthy. Can't remember the price but its over RM10.

Then the mineral chew to polish their teeth and at least have something to bite on....

After that their bath sand as we cannot bath hamster with water. My friend told me once she bath her hamster with water, the hamster died because it can catch chill. So, never ever try to bath a hamster please...

Need a sanitiser too to kill all the bacteria and wipe out all the smell as I hate smelly things. Its not cheap as this bottle of sanitiser cost me RM22.90.

Lots of things, right ? Everything for the hamster cost me RM300 and we still had RM20 so we decided to buy Hemit Crabs. The sales guy said Hemit Crabs is the easiest to take care, no need so many accessories and food as we can just give them some bread or vegetables to eat. The most important thing to me is Hemit Crabs don't easily died. Ha ha ha...

Each Hermit Crabs cost me RM8 each and the orange colour stone, RM8 per box. Their house is from the turtle house that we bought previously that left us recently...

They provide a 7 days warranty and if anything happen to the hamster, we can return to them and they'll try their best to cure them or exchange with a new one without any charge. Wonder if my hamster that run away, any warranty for that. Ha ha ha...

Having a pet needs lots of work and a team work to ensure the pets are save and happy with us. From caring a pet, my children learned a lot on giving out their love, caring them, feed them and cleaning for them. All this while, maid will be doing all the job but this round, I want my children to learn to become an independent person and a person that know how to take care of others and care for others. It might be expensive to bought all the things but its worth the money since my children learned a lot. Every morning, they woke up with hopes and rise from their bed once being called just to see their little hamster before heading to school. A small little pet had really change their life and hope they are moving ahead and become a leader that cares for everyone life....
