Cetaphil Baby Experience Workshop

Mommy Jane was fortunate for being selected as one of the parenting bloggers to attend Cetaphil® Baby Experience Workshop last Saturday at the Talent Lounge, Damansara Perdana. Being a mother to my 5 Little Angels, Mommy Jane loves to learn more especially on baby skin care since each and every Little Angels had different type of skins and the different care that we need to cater to each and everyone of them to ensure they will get the best.
Cetaphil®, the trusted dermatological skincare brand had officially kicked-off the Cetaphil® Baby Experience Workshop and their objective for this campaign is to further educate parents like us and parents-to-be on specific baby care skills especially on the bathing techniques, baby bonding and baby skincare. The entire campaign was built around the fact that new parents often get conflicting advice which is quite true on baby care due to the inconsistent information available online and through family members. From the workshop, parents like me could learned the correct techniques directly from the Doctor and the Expert sponsored by Cetaphil®.
To introduce the Baby Experience campaign, Cetaphil® had activated its online contest to recruit parents from across the nation to share, "Why a Mother's Loving Touch is Important". Mommy Jane had also shared the contest at my fan page and personal page so that all the readers and friends could participate the contest to win themselves tickets to the workshop, vouchers and baby samples. Based on the best answers, 12 lucky parents were selected to attend the exclusive Baby Experience workshop with Mommy Jane and other Parenting Bloggers i.e. Ben Ashaari, Isaac, Bro Framestone, Ruby, Kylie and Teo Chin Lu.
Dr. Mazlin Bt Mohd Baseri, Dermalogist at KPJ Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital
Cetaphil® Baby Experience Workshop is led by Dr. Mazlin Bt Mohd Baseri who is a Dermalogist at KPJ Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital had shared with us the common skin disorders in Babies. Dr Mazlin explained, "As information becomes more easily available and shareable online, parents these days have to be extra mindful in identifying credible sources when it comes to their child's wellbeing. My advice to parents is to always educate and support their information with the right guidance from authorised experts".
Common skin disorders that suffered by Babies nowadays
Dr. Mazlin said baby skin is 50% thinner than adult skin and their skin is less hairy. That is the reason why baby easily get diaper dermatitis caused by urination and atopic eczema which normally happened at face due to milk. Our baby skin is highly absorbent so it's critical to use fragrance-free and hypo-allergenic products and to avoid perfumes, harsh detergents and dyes, which can easily irritate newborn skin.

The water temperature must be around 32 till 38°C and the water level around 1 to 2 inches and the maximum is the waist level. Make sure the room temperature is not too cold and all equipment are at reach.
Ms Lim Li Li had showed us the correct method to hold our newborn baby's head and neck in order for us to wash his hair so that our baby will feel comfortable and safe
Bathing time start from the cleanest to the dirtiest part
After showing the method by Ms Li Li, all the participants had hands-on experience to bath a baby toy instead. Cetaphil® Baby Ultra Moisturising Bath & Wash were provided with a baby bath tub that filled with warm water. Not only Mothers had try it out, even Papa also did their part in giving bath to the baby toy instead.
Blogger Ben Ashaari in serious mood in handling the baby in his care. 2 Papa also did some practise in bathing the baby while another parenting blogger, Bro Framestone looks so happy holding the baby toy like his own. A good experience to all the Papa participants out there and thumbs up to them for spending some times learning the correct methods in taking care of baby at Cetaphil Baby Experience Workshop.
After bathing session, baby needs massage and Ms Corina Lau, a practising nurse for 7 years had taught us the correct way of massaging our baby. Massage our baby will give us more confident in handling our baby and recognising their needs. It also affirming our bond with our baby. Ms Corina Lau had shown us the Indian Milking massage technique for the baby.
First, we need to ask permission from our baby and communicate with him that Mommy will start doing massage on her. After that, put some Cetaphil® Baby Daily Lotion on our hand and move our hands start from upper arm and moving down to the wrist. Roll the upper arm gently between your hands and gently jiggle to release.
After massage his hand, we move to his legs. Move our hands down from the thigh down to the ankle twisting as we go. Our hand will be in a "C' shape and one hand will follow the other. As one finishes at the ankle, the other is starting at the top. Then release the legs by cradling them in our hands and roll them gently. Moving on to the ankles, we can use our finger tips to gently use little stroke up across the foot and towards where the ankle meets the foot. Next we can wiggle each on of the toes and sing some calming song.
After the massage demonstration, all participants had a group photo before proceed with the delicious lunch. The event end at 1 p.m. and all the participants went home with the best knowledge of Cetaphil® Baby Experience Workshop that taught all of us the best way in handling our baby. Goodie bag that consist of Cetaphil® Baby products were given to all the participants to try it at home too.

  20. Baby cribs are the crucial piece oftwin stroller for kids furniture you will buy for the nursery. Although your mind might be filled with differences between cribs and bassinets, which color baby bedding to choose, and how to install a mobile, you can't forget about safety. Despite strict regulations for baby products, it never hurts to double and triple check features -especially when you see the continually growing list of recalled products.
