Harumi 23, the Best of Tokyo Cuisine at Desa Parkcity

Desa Parkcity is just next to the neighbourhood where Mommy Jane stayed. Last weekend, Mommy Jane brought the eldest Little Angel, CM to have lunch at Harumi 23 at Plaza Arkadia, Desa Parkcity since both of us are fans of Tokyo cuisine and this is the first time we had a meal here. We were impressed when the area which is quite quiet but the restaurant dining area is almost filled up with patrons on that day.
Harumi 23 is a new and interesting Japanese restaurant specialising in Tokyo Cuisine, had launched its first outlet in Plaza Arkadia located at Desa ParkCity, bringing new Japanese dining experience to customers in the locality. With a keen interest in the modernity of Tokyo Cuisine, creative Japanese desserts and third wave single origin coffee, Harumi 23, aptly named to represent the 23 districts in Tokyo is eager to introduce an exquisite and contemporary route on Japanese cuisine to Malaysians who are up to the challenges to accept new offerings and cravings for a unique difference.
Ms Yeap Hong Lee, owner of Harumi 23
Ms Yeap Hong Lee, owner of Harumi 23 said that the new Japanese eatery was meant to create a memorable experience that would leave everyone wanting more, additionally to introduce the new and exceptional quality of Tokyo Cuisine that can hardly be found elsewhere. It will represent a sensational new dining option for the thousands of families, friends and workers.
Seeing an opportunity for contemporary Tokyo cuisine to make its introduction, Ms Yeap started Harumi 23 like a spark which fits perfectly in this location. With an attractive decor of Japanese-inspired influence to create a harmonious and relaxing environment, guests can dine in at Harumi 23 and appreciate the delectably-crafted food at their own comfort.
Mommy Jane and Little Angel were impressed with the design of the dining area. You can choose to enjoy your meal at the open area, closed area or even in a room. After we were seated and with the recommendation from Ms Yeap, we ordered some of the signature dishes to try on.
Butakushi at RM5 per stick
Our first dish is the Charcoal Grilled Pork Belly which also known as Butakushi uses organic Japanese pork to grilled with real charcoal on a traditional Japanese yakitori grill. The meat was tangy and I don't mind eating all the fat because it is perfectly marinated to bring out the delicious taste. Our next dish is the Hotate Bacon where the charcoal grilled Hokkaido scallops were wrapped with Bacon. My Little Angel loves this dish coz' she is a bacon lover and the method they cook the dish is really unique.

Harumi 23 Tempura using the high-grade Japanese tempura flour and ice-cold water to ensure crisp and light texture. Crispy and delicious dip with the sweet sauce.

Crispy Sushi Roll is recommended for those who loves to eat crunchy sushi. The dish is quite new for me. Crispy from outside and sushi roll with salmon meat and Japanese cucumber at inside. Can eat it as snacks too.

Sashimi Moriawase is indeed fresh flown from Norway. Once have it, you will wanted to try it all. It is the Japanese delicacy consisting of very fresh raw fish sliced into thin pieces. There are 2 types for you to choose from i.e. 3 kind or 6 kinds of sashimi at different price. The meat is thick and it is a must to have dish for all the sashimi food lovers.

Mentai King Prawn is the best amongst all the dish that I had on that day. The prawn is big and juicy. The cod roe sauce brings out the freshness taste of the seafood.

Western Cuisine meet Tokyo Cuisine. Only at Harumi 23, you can have Salmon Mentaiko Spaghetti. Inspired by the flavourful spaghetti found in Japanese-style spaghetti specialty shops in Tokyo. The salmon is fresh and the sauce is creamy. The combination is perfect for Salmon and Spaghetti lovers to try it out.

Harumi 23 also served Mentai Don. A generous amount of house made mentaiko sauce over a slab of Japanese style omelette and cod fish roe. It is sweet and yet salty from batter. The distinct grains of Japanese rice underneath carries some of its charred flavour.
Mentai Don at RM19
Harumi Dobin Mushi is a traditional Japanese seafood broth, steamed and served in a dobin tea pot with shrimp, chicken, soy sauce, lime and matsutake mushroom at a carefully controlled temperature to release the inherent delicious umami flavours in the ingredients. It is sweet and full of nutritious.

Toro Salmon Shio is a grilled salmon belly with country-style special miso sauce. Using fresh grilled salmon for a delicious high protein diet. Harumi 23 is the best place to have this dish.

After having all the recommended appetizer, soup and main course, let me introduce some of the desserts and drinks from the menu. Mommy Jane ordered Matcha Frappucino. It is cooling and refreshing to have this drink. With sweet red beans, sour strawberry and pineapple as the topping on a blend of bitter premium matcha powder.
Matcha Frappucino at RM19.90
Match Latte at RM10.90
Life will never be complete without any sweet dessert. Introducing Macha Kakigori. The rich taste of the macha syrup is refreshing that top up with the creaminess of the ice cream are the best combination with my favourite red bean and mochi.

For pancake lover, do try out the Maple & Butter Souffle Pancake. Using the classic soft pancake with vanilla ice cream on top and honey sauce, it is a bit sweet but tasty.

My last dish is the Chocolate Strawberry Toast. It tastes just as good as it looks. Hot french toast with dark chocolate sauce, fresh strawberry with Vanilla and Strawberry ice cream. It is my Little Angel's favourite sweet dessert.

Mommy Jane and Little Angel had tried out the food at Harumi 23. It is indeed delicious and fresh. The method of cooking was different as compare to the other Japanese food that we had usually. It combines Japanese, Malaysian and Western style in cooking to prepare a unique taste for each dish. It is indeed creative and the taste is suitable to all of us. We will definitely come back again to try out their other food in the menu.
