Ramadhan Food Review at Bangi Golf Resort

Another 1 more month to go before all the Muslims will be fasting during the month of Ramadhan. Observers of Islam will fast from sunrise to sunset. During the fast, no food or drink is consumed and thoughts must be kept pure. Meals are served before sunrise, called 'Suhoor' and after sunset, it will be called as 'Iftar'. Iftar normally eaten with family and friends. If you're looking forward to enjoy your 'Iftar' during Ramadhan, then you might want to try out the food served at Bangi Golf Resort.
Mommy Jane and Little Angels were invited to joined Bangi Golf Resort ("BGR") Annual Ramadhan Buffet on last Saturday. We reached the resort at 5.40 p.m. and we were sitted at a shutter van who brought us to their Farm Resort. At the Farm Resort, we saw their durian farm from far and passion fruits from near. The Manager said that they had started to plant their durian early this year and it will takes around 4 years before we able to eat the durian but BGR had set up a Durian Runtuh Party to all of us. While eating the delicious D24 durian, we able to enjoy the beautiful farm scenery around us. BGR will be taking orders for Musang King (RM110/box) and D24 durians (RM55/box) from guests who wishes to purchase durians for Iftar and Hari Raya. Pre-ordering can be done via https://www.bgrrest.com/product/durian.
After having our durian party, we went back to the resort for the Buffet Ramadhan. BGR will be having their Buffet Ramadhan from 19 May 2018 to 13 June 2018. Their signature dishes include Kambing Bakar (lamb slow-roasted on the spot) and Sup Kambing Mamak (Indian style Mutton Stew).

At this station, Chefs will serve up portions of freshly carved roast lamb and piping hot bowls of button stew to warm our stomach.
We also enjoyed their freshly frilled Beef & Chicken Satay as well as wok-fried Fried Kway Teow and Fried Mee Mamak.

BGR had produce grown in their very own "Farm in the City" at their Farm Resort. Their Chefs will be harvesting organic vegetables and serve them during Buffet Ramadhan, providing guests with a unique "farm to fork" dining experience. Do check out their 'Nasi Kerabu', a rice dish served with home grown ulam (raw vegetables and herbs), fried salted fish, fish crackers and a selection of garnishing. The natural blue colour of the Nasi Kerabu is actually comes from the petals of bunga telang (a blue flower) grown in their farm.

Do not miss their new addition i.e. Sarawak Laksa and Singapore Laksa which is made from scratch that tantalise our taste bud.

For the Western Section, their must to have feature dishes with a gastronomic touch such as Sous Vide Eggs with Mushroom Espuma, Chicken Lasagna and Spaghetti Carbonara are our favourite.

For the Oriental Cuisine, BGR Restaurant perfected the technique of preparing Hainanese Chicken Rice where each piece of the chicken is cooked just to the point of doness, giving them a succulent texture. The fluffy grains of rice are enriched with rendered chicken fat, leaving them glistening and flavourful.
Do also look out for their Black Pepper beef and their popular new creation of Deep Fried Fish Fillet with Golden Butter Sauce.

As for the Dessert Galore, our favourites are the Spanish Churros with Thick Chocolate Sauce, signature Italian Tiramisu, a selection of homemade Malay kuih as well as variety of puddings, agar-agar and tropical fruits. Not to forget their Freshly Churned Gelato in the unique flavours of Durian and Bunga Kantan.
Be spoilt for choice with creations such as Salted Caramel Brownies, Pina Colada Cheese Cake, Bandung Lychee Cheese Cake, Blueberry Creme Brulee Cake, The Patissier Mocha Fudge Cake, Talas Saled Corn, Red Velvet Durian Mousse in-a-cup, Pandan Gula Melaka Mousse in-a-cup and Cendol Mousse in-a-cup.

Overall Mommy Jane and Little Angels enjoyed with the food so much. It is delicious and we were spoilt by the various choices. We wanted to try all but to save the food from wasting, we just tried some of their signature dishes. We will definitely come back again for their Ramadhan buffet with our family members coz' good food should be share together especially on this holy month.
