The School by Jaya One Cultivates Kindness and Positivity in line with Merdeka & Malaysia Day

Mommy Jane and 4 Little Angels went to the School by Jaya One to join their month-long campaign, themed ‘Let’s Be Nice’ from 21 August - 10 September 2023 to cultivate positivity and kindness within the community in line with Merdeka and Malaysia Day. ‘Let’s Be Nice’ is a campaign to show support and compassion, especially to help those in need. The campaign is also in parallel to reaffirming The School’s core values as a community-driven space built on the foundation of championing community initiatives.

The campaign was served as a platform to foster community connections through the big important themes of positivity, kindness, moderation and harmony – bringing people together, raising awareness for the causes of The School’s nonprofit community partners as well as creating a positive impact on the lives of people in need and the community as a whole.

My 2 Little Angels enjoyed making their own solar cars at only RM15 each

With the core values of championing community events in mind, The School has supported a succession of community events including the #DripSomethingNice Blood Donation Drive championed by Zubedy M. Sdn Bhd in partnership with Pusat Darah Negara on 6 & 7 September 2023, 11am-5pm at Level G, The School. The blood donation drive is part of Zubedy’s 2023 #SaySomethingNice campaign, which aims to promote the selfless life-saving act of kindness that has a ripple effect on the community and the donors themselves, whilst igniting a movement of giving blood to save lives. It is also in line with Zubedy’s core values to create a positive atmosphere of unity and kindness through embracing the power of giving. To date, this will be the 8th year since The School joined hands to work with Zubedy since 2015.

Handmade cute little toys for you to bring them home

The main highlight for the #LetsBeNice campaign was the Kidpreneurs’ Weekend Bazaar happened on 9 & 10 September, 10am-5pm at Level G, The School. Hosted by FirstSeed, a community champion that supports entrepreneurship for children, the event had supported single-parent families under the supervision of Parents Without Partners (PWP), a non-profit organisation with a singular vision to improve the welfare of economically disadvantaged single parents and legal guardians.

PWP is an non-profit organisation which The School has supported since 2011 with a Preloved Shop and Recycle Centre at Level P1, where they run a collection and sale of preloved items donated by the public. Through the collaborative effort of The School and FirstSeed, the single parents and their children from PWP will take part and bring together a charity drive to make and sell their products at the Kidpreneurs’ Weekend Bazaar, which includes preloved clothes, books, handmade art merch, accessories and paintings. All proceeds from the sales of these items will go 100% to PWP where it is used to economically empower single parents and the poor by supporting their daily necessities which include essential food & housing support.

Charles Wong, Executive Director of Tetap Tiara Sdn Bhd, the developer of The School by Jaya One said that being a community-friendly mall, The School aims to empower youths to be critical thinkers and well-rounded members of society through their various recreational, educational, and enrichment initiatives. Since 2011, The School has set out to support various community champions in their causes because they hope to inspire the community that everyone has the power to make a change and do good. They believe that anyone can have an impact – no matter their age.

This Merdeka & Malaysia Day, they hope to ignite more acts of kindness as the pandemic has left many feeling isolated. They’re proud to continue working with Zubedy ever since their first collaborated 8 years ago, as well as creating a movement to cultivate positivity and kindness through providing a platform for single parents and their young children under the support of Parents Without Partners (PWP) to raise funds and awareness for their causes. They encourage all of us to come and enjoy some preloved shopping to find unique items at reasonable prices at the bazaar, while supporting a great cause.

In the spirit of fostering a positive and fulfilling collaboration, FirstSeed and its kidpreneurs will also provide free coaching and ideation workshops for PWP’s single parents and children prior to their charity drive to equip them with the essential skills and knowledge to help them create their products, engage with customers, and make sales at the bazaar.

By bringing together single parents and their children from PWP to join the September Kidpreneurs’ Weekend Bazaar, the charity drive further reinforces The School’s focus to serve as an inspiration the community as an important source of community connection with an aim to empower, grow, and develop stronger communities through meaningful collaborations.

Following the launch of the #LetsBeNice campaign throughout 21 August - 10 September 2023, The School has also rolled out a Positivi-tea Corner with a Positivi-tea Board and Positivi-tea Tree at Level G, The School, where over 500 visitors came over to take one positive message home, or leave one to pass on a little positivity to the next person seeing it. My Little Angel bought a box of Lego from 2 cute little kids to support their business

Glad to be part of the campaign organised by the School at Jaya One. The kids had shown their talented skills in promoting their created products and learned the skills of entrepreneurship. Hope for the next campaign, my Little Angels could be part of the Kidspreneur to learn the skills of doing business and to help those who are in needs. Besides contribute the positive message at the "Let's Be Nice" board, my Little Angels also had supported the kids and the NGOs by buying the products from them. Thanks to the School by Jaya One for such a great initiative to promote unity, kids to learn about entrepreneurship and also helped NGOs through their Corporate Social Responsibility programme.
