Learning English with Emphasis English Academy

Last Saturday on 18.11.2014, I was invited by Melissa to do a review on an English centre at Ativo Plaza, Sri Damansara. Since I always wanted to find ways to improved my Little Angels' English lesson, I accepted and brought my 2 Junior Rangers there i.e. CW and WH as they need to improve their English in order to do their blog (http://2-junior-rangers.blogspot.com) independently without Mommy's help anymore. Once we reached there, we were greeted by Mr Ronan O'Carroll, founder of Emphasis English Academy. He is tall, young and handsome guy and I'm glad as he personally explained to me the method that their Academy used to improved the English of all their students.

Emphasis English Academy's core belief is that the ability to speak English is essential for success in our modern society and that everyone has the ability to learn to speak English, when taught in the right way. Their main objective is for all of their students to become like native-English speakers. Through 'The Emphasis Method', they give their students the advantage of a broad understanding of the language so that they are capable of expressing complex ideas easily. The courses are focused on developing the students' reading, writing, listening and speaking skills at the same time so that they can truly master the English language.

What I love about their method in teaching was lessons are taught in a holistic way through the rotation of the 4 essential skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) with interactive activities used to reinforce the learning process so the students develop the language skills at their own pace. This encourages the students to get involved and be proactive during the learning process; giving them ownership of the language. This makes learning English will never be a boring lesson after all. Ha ha ha...

Through their commitment to hiring and training the best native-speaking teachers, their dedication to developing and refining the most modern and effective courses available and their principle of working with smaller groups of students, Emphasis English Academy offers courses are not just great value for money but also the best English courses in Malaysia.
Mr Ronan and his students
Learning English is an interesting and fun process which is so much more than just filling in the blanks. The Emphasis Method is all about engaging the students with exciting and dynamic classes. Speaking and listening are given an equal weight with reading and writing in Emphasis classes. The learning process is fun and stimulating for the students and this encourages them to participate fully in their lessons.
Do bring your kids to join in the free story reading for children
The focus is on developing students into confident, communicate English speakers and this is achieved through 'The Emphasis Method' as the method makes use of the latest scientific research on language development as well as tried and trusted language teaching methodology to make the process of language learning efficient, enjoyable and effective.

One of the key distinctions of the 'The Emphasis Method' is that the students are taught by level, rather than by age. All students are given a free assessment before they join and are then admitted to courses which enhance their English skills. This allows students of all levels and ages to achieve fluency regardless of their background or previous education.. So, do make an appointment before you drop by to do the assessment first which takes around 1 hour to see which level your children should join in.

The students' English skills are developed in a balanced and multi-skilled approach. Students at all levels partake actively in the learning process and make use of their multiple intelligences to learn different aspects of the language. The Emphasis Method's focus on balanced development means that students develop the four basic skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) at the same time. This approach gives the depth to the leaning process and allows their students to develop skills which will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

So, if you're looking for holiday programmes for your children, Emphasis English Academy will have 3 different types i.e. Pre-School (4-6 years old) where your pre-school children will be taught on different grammar and vocabulary targets through reading, writing, speaking and listening to develop their skills in a balanced and fun way. Creative Writing (7-16 years old) where each lesson looks at a different technique to develop your children's creative writing skills and allow them to express themselves creatively in English and the third one is Conversational English (7-16 years old) where there will be a fun and interactive way for young learners to develop their English skills and there is a heavy focus on interaction with a lot of speaking and listening games used to make the learning process fun.
Hints : They'll be having great discounts for the holiday programmes soon. So, do like their facebook

  2. That's great to know your own language, that's amazing when you can use proper words, proper forms and sentences, but I'll never make my child to learn foreign language if she/he doesn't want it. I can even ask professional speech writer to tell more about my position, bit I think, you'll be bored.
