Reading is Fun with Scholastic

Reading is one of the easiest ways to increase school readiness. When we read to our child, we're building their vocabulary, language and literacy skills, while improving concentration, curiosity and memory. To help our child to enjoy their reading, finding the right book at the right time can light an emotional spark within children that motivates them to read more, understand more and read joyfully. Mommy Jane recently found out 4 books from Scholastic Inc which are suitable for my Little Angels aged between 5 years old and 12 years old.
For my 8 year old son, I let him read Dragon Master by Tracey West. At this book, he able to discover the secret of the Dragon Stone. The baby Lightning Dragon has been kidnapped ! Lalo was taken by Griffith's first Dragon Master, Eko. This powerful enemy wants to kidnap all the dragons in the kingdom. She and her Thunder Dragon, Neru, attack the castle - in the middle of King Roland's wedding ! Can Drake and the other Dragon Masters rescue Lalo and protect their dragons ? Do read the whole adventure stories. WT found the story interesting. With its easy-to-read text, high interest content, fast-paced plots and illustrations on every page will boost reading confidence and stamina.

If your child enjoy the humour movies like Madagascar, then the Bad Guys by Aaron Blabey is for them. A great read-aloud book, They sound like the Bad Guys and they look like the Bad Guys, everybody knows that. They're scary and dangerous and well... just Bad but these guys want to be Heroes. And they're going to prove it by doing good deeds. Whether you want them to or not. Buckle up for the funniest, naughtiest and coolest book that you'll ever read. It's time to meet the Bad Guys at their Episode 1.
For my 11 year old boy, WH enjoyed reading the Goosebumps Horror Land by R.L. Stine. This story is about Ray Gordon loves to scare his younger brother, Brandon. It's not hard considering Brandon is terrified of everything which include loud noises, roller coasters and the wooden dummy Slappy that Ray got from Jonathan Chiller's HorrorLand gift shop. In order  to throw his big New Year's Eve party, Ray's parents make him promise to leave Brandon alone, But strange, mean-spirited things keep happening to his little brother and Slappy always seems to be around for it. Could these words Ray read out loud actually have brought the dummy to life ? Do check the story out. The story had strengthen the relationship between WH and WT because sometimes WH likes to make WT angry and this story gave them the lesson on the love between siblings.
For my 12 year old daughter, CW and since she loves to do art and craft, Mommy Jane got her a Shopkins. The book comes with lots of surprises page after page. Get ready to sketch along with all of your favourite Shopkins Hidden beneath each page is a colourful burst of color or glitter just waiting to be discovered, Used the example images on the left-hand pages to draw shoptacular pictures of Apple Blossom, Cheeky Chocolate, Lippy Lips, Wishes and many more. This book includes 20 scratch art pages to draw on, 20 pages of Shopkins art to follow, 20 extra pages to draw your own doodles and 1 wooden stylus. CW loves to sketch away to make her own cool designs at Shopkins.
